SEO

Growcer comes with several SEO-friendly features so that a lot can be done on the website to climb up in the rankings. While SEO relies on keywords, it takes more than just sprinkling some keywords into your site’s content to get your site ranking higher.

1. Meta Tag Management

Set the language specific SEO details such as meta title, meta keyword, meta description and other meta tags for the shops, products, brands, categories, cms pages, blog setup pages along with several other advanced settings.

I. Default: 

This tab is meant to configure meta tags and headings for the default Website Title page. Once a website is set up, it is prudent to enter keyword rich metadata to improve the way search engines index the site. The following Meta Tag Setup form is setup in order to use SEO keywords:

  1. Manual Actions: Click on the three horizontal dots and select Edit and the following information of Meta Tag Setupform can be edited.
    1. General Tab: On this tab, edit the following field:
      • Identifier*: Edit identifier name in case existing one requires an improvement.
        However, an identifier name does not reflect anywhere on the website frontend
    2. Language Tab: On this tab, edit the following fields:
      • Meta Title:* Edit meta keywords displayed on the website title. We recommend using unique, descriptive and 70 character or fewer titles.
        Note: Content that has been added under Title is displayed on the Title page.
      • Meta Keywords*: Edit or include important targeted keywords, following SEO best practices.
        Note: SEO optimized keywords that have been added under Meta keywords are displayed on the Source Page of a website. To view the source page, navigate to the web page, right-click the page and look at the menu that appears. From that menu, click View page source. The source code for that page will now appear as a new tab in the browser.
      • Meta Description*: Edit description and provide brief overview of the page to enhance ranking in search results listings.
        Note: SEO optimized keywords that have been added under Meta keywords are displayed on the Source page of a website.
      • Other Meta Tags: Enter/edit meta tags that tell search engines which page to index when multiple URLs have identical or very similar content. Click on Save Changes to save changes made.
        Note: SEO optimized keywords that have been added under Meta keywords are displayed on the Source page of a website.
        Further language tabs appearing is dependent upon the number of languages enabled in the system.

II. All Products: 

This area allows embedding of search engine optimized meta title, keyword, description and tags for All Products page. Whenever needed, make necessary edits through the action button .

III. Product Detail: 

From this area, product wise seo keyword embedding settings is set up and managed. Whenever needed, make necessary edits through the action button . To search products from the listed inventory, there is a search bar placed at the top of the listing area. The following search filters are used to search for products by:

  • Keyword: Enter the first few phrases and you will be provided with a suggested listing of products, select appropriate and get results of products matching your search.
  • Has Tags Associated: To sort search associated with tags, select Yes.

IV. All Shops:

This area allows embedding of search engine optimized metatitle, keyword, description and tags for all the shops listings. Edit the Meta Tag Setup form by clicking on Edit from Action header .

V. Shop Details: 

This area allows embedding of search engine optimized meta title, keyword, description and tags for individual shops registered with the system. Edit Meta Tag Setup form by clicking on edit option from Action header  whenever required.

For easy navigation and accessibility, a search bar is placed at the top of the listing. The following search filters are available:

  • Keyword: Search by keyword, phrases, first few words of associated shop.
  • Has Tags Associated: To search by tags associated, select Yes.

VI. CMS Page: 

From this area, seo keyword embedding settings is set up and managed on all the CMS Pages. Whenever needed, make necessary edits through the action button .

Also for easy search of the cms page from the listings, there is a search bar placed at the top of the listing area. The following search filters are used to search for respective cms pages:

  • Keyword: Search by keyword, phrases, first few words of planned cms page.
  • Has Tags Associated: To view results associated with tags, select Yes.

VII. All Brands: 

From this area, seo keyword embedding settings is set up and managed on All Brands page. Whenever needed, make necessary edits through the action button .

VIII. Brand Detail: 

From this area, seo keyword embedding settings is set up and managed for Brands registered separately. Whenever needed, make necessary edits through the action button .

IX. All Categories: 

From this area, seo keyword embedding settings is set up and managed on All Categories page. Whenever needed, make necessary edits through the action button .

X. Category Detail: 

From this area, seo keyword embedding settings is set up and managed for Brands registered separately. Whenever needed, make necessary edits through the action button .

XI. Blog Page: 

From this area, seo keyword embedding settings is set up and managed for Brands registered separately. Whenever needed, make necessary edits through the action button .

XII. Blog Category: 

From this area, seo keyword embedding settings is set up and managed for Brands registered separately. Whenever needed, make necessary edits through the action button .

XIII. Blog Post: 

From this area, seo keyword embedding settings is set up and managed for Brands registered separately. Whenever needed, make necessary edits through the action button .

XIV. Advanced Setting

Advanced settings is dedicated to manually adding meta-tags to the web pages created outside the list explained above such as product detail page, all products, shops, all shops, brand detail, cms pages, and so forth.

Note: For other pages that are not available in the list, the system will pick meta information added in Default, else, opt to add from advanced settings.

  1. Add Meta Tag: On the upper right corner, click on the three horizontal dots icon and select Add Meta Tag.
    1. General Tab: The general tab has the following information to be added:
    2. Language Data Tab: This tab has the following information to be added:
      • Meta Title*: Enter meta title that is to be displayed on the title of the web page created.
      • Meta Keywords*: Enter meta keywords that are to be displayed on the source page.
      • Meta Description*: Write description detailing brief about the web page to enhance ranking in search results listings
      • Other Meta Tags: Enter meta tags that tell search engines which page to indexwhen multiple URLs have identical or very similar content. The other language tabs displayed are dependent upon the number of languages enabled in a system.
  2. Edit : The tags that are shown in the listing can be later edited with an option to Edit available below the Action header.
  3. Delete : Remove existing tags from the system with an option to Delete available below the Action header. On the source page, all the tags associated with web pages will be deleted too.

2. URL Rewriting

The URL rewriting module allows you to rewrite URLs to simple, user-friendly, and search-engine friendly that are displayed to users. Growcer team suggest all rewritten urls should be short, crips and apt so that they can be more seo friendly.

Add, edit and delete rewritten url from the listing by the following the options below:

I. Add New :

On the upper right corner, click on the three horizontal dots icon and select the Add New. This will open URL Rewrite Setup form where the following information is added to create one:

  • Original URL*: Enter an original url page intended to be changed.
  • SEO Friendly URL*: Enter the custom url. The rule based rewriting is followedas: Example,

If site url is:{http://domainname.com/cms/view/1} and you want to rewrite then original URL: Cms/view/1 can be customized as {My-custom-page browsing url: http://domainname.com/my-custom-page}.

Once the url has been added click on Save Changes and it will be added into the list

II. Edit :

Below the action header, click on the three horizontal dots icon, select Edit. Here you will be prompted to make edits into URL Rewrite Setup. Once you will rewrite the url in the given fields, don’t forget to click on Save Changes to save the changes made.

III. Delete :

There is an option to delete rewritten urls you have newly created or that pre-exist in the system. To do that select the option to Delete placed below the listing heading Action upon clicking on three horizontal dots icons. Once listing is removed from the system, it will be confirmed with the prompt message Record Deleted Successfully at the bottom of the listing.

IV. Search :

On the top of the listing page, there is a search bar placed for easy navigation and quick sorting of a listing. Type in the Keyword to find a specific url, click search and list will hide results you don’t want to see.

3. Image Attributes

The Image Attributes module allows you to set image alt tags for all the images added in the system. Adding these image attributes are very resourceful for SEO practices and boost the website's user-friendliness. The Growcer team suggests that all image alt tags should be short, crisp and apt so that they can be more SEO friendly.

The Manage Image Attributes page displays two sections. The left section displays the Records list where you can view all the Products, Brands, Banners and Blogs listed. By default, the list of products added on the portal appear on this landing page. A Search section is provided at the top of this page where following fields are available:

  • Select Type: From the drop down list, select the type of records to be searched, such as, Products, Brand Logo, Category Banner and Blogs. The page displays Product records by default.
  • Keyword: Search by relevant keywords.
    Click on Search to display the results. Click on Clear to display the whole Products list again.

I. Action Button 

Click on the three dots action button given to the right of each listing and select Edit to add image alt tags details. The image details for the respective item are displayed in the right section of the page. For instance, the images added under various product options are shown here.

Perform the following functionalities in this section:

  • Image File Type: Filter the list by image file type.
  • Language: Filter the list by specific languages.
  • Image Title: Enter the SEO friendly image title for the respective listing in the provided field.
  • Image Alt: Enter the SEO friendly image alt tag for the respective listing in the provided field.

Once the information is added, click on Save Changes to update.
